McCullar entered public accounting in August 1968 after graduating from Mississippi State University, where he was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, an international honors business fraternity for accounting, finance and information systems students and professionals.  He passed the Uniform CPA examination in May 1969, and except for 2 ½ years spent in private industry, he has spent his entire professional career in public accounting.

McCullar has served on the Alabama State Board of Accountancy, has served on the Council for the Alabama Society of CPAs, and was president-elect of the Alabama Society before resigning to move to Florida in 2003.

Throughout his career, McCullar has gained valuable insight in working with closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations.  He works closely with business owners to help them achieve their long-term business goals through financial and tax planning strategies.
